Get to Know Me

I was drawn to training as a therapist through my previous work with people learning to attune to themselves through the movement practice of Pilates. I have specialized training in teaching Pilates to people with neurological conditions, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and those who are post-stroke. This work brought me into contact with people facing life-limiting diagnoses, people with traumatic histories that disassociated them from their bodies, and people who hadn't known they could be gentle with themselves while progressing in some way. That work made me a part of their care webs, and I felt drawn to expand my relational skills.

What solidified my choice to train as a therapist was my own family’s experience with the Medical Assistance in Dying program (MAID).  I believe that people know what they need and are experts in themselves. I am honoured to be present with people as they explore and experiment with change, which can happen at any time in life.

As a white, able-bodied, non-binary person, I am constantly investigating my privileges and ways of being. I am a 5th-generation settler and a 1st-generation immigrant to so-called Canada. I am polyamorous and have been partnered for over 20 years. I have travelled extensively throughout my life and am actively learning to communicate through differences.

My approach draws from Gestalt therapy and somatic focuses. I offer an exploratory and transparent dialogue while fostering an empathetic and non-judgmental environment. You’ll experience a curious and affirming therapist who challenges you to express yourself fully and notice the connections throughout your story and your experiences. Whether you are stuck or shifting rapidly, I offer space to breathe and moments to collect before moving on. I am ready to meet you wherever you are each time we interact.
